Are Preventive Anti-Termite Reticulation Pipes made of special raw material? Is that material different from other irrigation or porous pipes?

These are very frequently asked questions!

All companies may or may not use special compound to manufacture reticulation pipes. For effective termite prevention, it is particularly important to use the right kind of pipes, specifically made for reticulation and not use any other irrigation or porous pipe.

Anti-termite pipes are installed underground. Once installed, you do not have the option of changing those pipes. It is very important to get it right the first time! Make sure to select anti-termite reticulation pipes that are made of weight-bearing material, do not compress or block over time, are very long lasting, have the right design that ensures a good flow-rate.

With many options available that may be marginally cheaper, one may get tempted to use cheaper options. We need to remember that this is a “ONE TIME” time installation for a property worth millions. If not correctly prevented, loss due to termites can run into very huge amounts, not to speak of the high inconvenience involved in replacing, restoring and renovating the rooms and furniture ruined by termites. Saving a little by buying something that may not be the most appropriate, might lead to losing a lot in the long run.

TermiPore offers very high-quality, ROHS compliant anti-termite reticulation pipes, made of specially developed elastomeric compound. TermiPore Reticulation Pipes are available in a wide range of standard and customized sizes. They offer not just the pipes, but an entire Reticulation System, with all the necessary accessories of excellent quality and they also provide training for installation.

It is noteworthy that Termipore has a culture of research and development, high quality control and good customer service. TermiPore Pipes are made of a specially formulated thermoplastic elastomeric compound that has a specific as well as assured flow rate. The flow rate is identified as optimum after years of trial and research. There are various ways in which reticulation pipes are installed and used, and that changes from place to place. Termipore pipe flow rate is designed so that even when the installation and use is a little different from that recommended, the termiticide will reach everywhere. Although Termipore pipe is designed and tested so that the flow rate is as uniform as possible, the material and process of making the pipe is such that there will be variations of +/- 20% in the flow rate along the length of the pipe, as well as between pipes. This is because the honeycomb structure is created during the curing process when the pipe is made, and the holes are drilled post-production.

The main properties that make Termipore Pipe a better reticulation pipe are:

-        Optimum flow rate designed for reticulation and termiticide injection

-        Every roll of Termipore is checked to ensure proper flow rate is available

-        High wall thickness to ensure higher weight bearing capacity

-        Consistent micro holes and flow of termiticide due to superior material and high thickness of pipe

-        Availability of support and distribution across the country through pest control service providers who use TermiPore pipes

-        Availability of multiple sizes and products depending on your building and stage of construction

-        Availability of all accessories from one manufacturer

Manufactured by a reputable and dependable company that is more than 50 years old and has ISO 9001:2015 Certification, TermiPore is in use since more than a decade. Our design and material compound hold the test of time and are the best suited in different weather and geographical conditions.

TermiPore Pipes of all sizes are made with the same durable material using the same extensive process. And the life once installed under the flooring is also the same. So all sizes will work and serve the purpose of reticulation. TermiPore Reticulation System also includes all the accessories needed for the same; thereby making it easy for our customers. Accessories needed are elbow, tees, jointers, barbed clamp or fixing hooks, end plug and junction boxes.

How To Install Anti-Termite Reticulation Pipes?

Installation of Anti- termite Reticulation Pipes can feel a bit puzzling sometimes. Questions like when to install, how to install, what pipe size, which brand, what medicines, etc arise.

Through our blogs we address all such questions and make it simple for our readers to understand and get answers to such queries. As you are already aware, Reticulation Pipes can be installed before construction, during construction or even after construction. However, the next question is how exactly to install the pipes? Which pattern to follow.

The answer to the above question depends on many factors, such as the size of property and the size of different rooms within, location of property, neighborhood, usage and maintenance of premises, etc .

Based on many such variables you can decide any of the following patterns:

A.      Around Borders:

In this pattern, pipes are laid around the external borders of the room. Ideally, this pattern is suitable in a smallish room size. Or in a region, where the problem of termites is not too high. This pattern can be used when the surrounding areas in the neighborhood are well maintained and do not have many vacant premises.

B.      Around Borders with Added Lines (if needed)

For a medium sized room, pipes are laid around the external borders of the room and then a line or two of the pipe is laid between borders.

C.       Criss-Cross Pattern

When the area to be covered is large, when your premises is surrounded by other premises that may be vacant and unattended for long periods, when your premises is in a termite infested region, then we recommend a crisscross pattern of installation, so that adequate medicines are pumped not just on borders but also across the entire surface area.

D. Concentric Rectangles/Squares

You can also install pipes in concentric squares or rectangles and ensure that the medicines have a good reach across the area.

TermiPore – well trusted and renowned brand for Anti-termite Reticulation System, provides technical advice for customized installation layout. Currently, they offer this service is at no cost, for a limited period. TermiPore Reticulation Pipes are available in multiple sizes and they also customize the size as per client needs. What are the advantages of TermiPore Pipes for Anti-termite Reticulation?

There are many types of pipes available in the market and as a consumer, it may get confusing to select the right pipe, the right size, and the right brand. It is very likely, that using any other pipe/irrigation pipe may not give the desired result in the long term. The details that follow will make it easy for you to understand how TermiPore outranks others.

First and foremost, what we need for any product that we buy is very good quality, and TermiPore provides the best!

Product raw material:

Since Anti-termite Reticulation is concealed, you need to ensure that there is no compromise in quality. You need very long-lasting pipes, that do not bend/squeeze and that assure a good flow rate for medicines to reach across the installation. Based on intensive research and development, TermiPore is made of best raw material, i.e. a specially formulated thermoplastic elastomeric compound, especially developed for the purpose of anti-termite reticulation.

Product design:

TermiPore’s honeycomb structure in its walls and the curing process ensure micro holes all throughout the length of the pipe – about 80 to 100 per mtr length. TermiPore has consistent micro holes all around the pipe and across its entire length, giving an assured flow rate. The flow rate has been identified as optimum for anti-termite reticulation and termiticide injection, after years of trial and research. The pipe is also thicker – at least 2 mm thick in the lowest cost model, and upto 3.5 mm thick in in our premium products. This thickness ensures that the pipe does not get compressed or bent during installation and hence will ensure a proper flow of termiticide when injected even after many years of installation. There are various ways that reticulation pipes are installed and used, and that changes from place to place. Termipore pipe flow rate is designed so that even when the installation and use is a little different from that recommended, the termiticide will reach everywhere.

How to determine the size of Reticulation Pipes for Anti-termite System

We are often asked this question and there is quite a bit of confusion over the type and size of pipe, to be used for Anti-termite Reticulation System.

As mentioned in one of our previous articles, always select pipes made specially for anti-termite reticulation. Some suggest irrigation pipes, but those pipes are not meant for long term underground use. The composition of the material of irrigation pipes and anti-termite reticulation pipes is very different. Do not get tempted or misguided, please ensure that you use the right type and good quality of pipes to begin with. We would like to add here that TermiPore Reticulation Pipes are made of specially developed elastomeric compound, for the purpose of underground installation.

The next decision is about what size of pipes to be used since different companies make different sizes of anti-termite reticulation pipes. Our product designer at TermiPore recommends a thumb rule here: “Keep away from pipes with walls. Always use reticulation pipes with a decent wall thickness since those are to be installed underground and for long term use”. The price difference is almost negligible when you consider the long-term use and the cost of damage or repairs due to termites if inappropriate pipes are used. We suggest that you install pipes with a minimum wall thickness of 2.5mm”.

Next is, the diameter of the inside walls of the pipes. We usually recommend 16mm pipes, however, if you have a very large area and the termite problem is not too severe, then you may opt for 12mm pipes. We also offer 19mm pipes, and we also customize pipes as per client requirement. The table with this article illustrates the standard options available at TermiPore:

Kindly note that we also provide all the installation. We provide specially designed junction box along with (jointer, tee, end plug, elbow, hook)

One more important suggestion is to invest in brass jointer at the junction box, to pump in pesticides, since it has a very long life.

How to prevent Termites – The Silent Destroyers

Termites, also known as "silent destroyers “, can be alarmingly destructive. In case of termites Prevention is Better Than Cure, because they stay hidden and chomp away through wood and wallpaper undetected. By the time they are visible, the damage is often beyond repair. As per a study in US, damage to property by termites is valued at a staggering $5 billion annually! And yet, loss due to termites is usually not covered by insurance.

The 2500 odd species of termites weigh more than the weight of all human beings on earth! Each colony is populated by 25000 - 60000 termites and even 1/16th of an inch of a crack is enough for termites to penetrate and make way into your premises. Bit by bit, invisibly chewing throughout the day and night, a colony can munch away 5 gms of wood a day and can destroy your property beyond repair.

Termites are resilient and some species are around for more than 250 million years. With a life spanning 25-50 years, some termite queens lay more 20-25 eggs per minute, i.e. approx. 30,000 per day leading to more than 10 million annually. Primarily, termites need shelter, food and moisture, and these are available in most constructions, hence it is very easy for termite colonies to thrive and multiply. This makes it necessary for us to proactively prevent termites from infesting our expensive premises. Preventing termites is very easy and way cheaper than repairing the damage once they sneak in and ruin beyond repair.

All you need to do, to prevent termites, is to install a good reticulation system and ensure termiticide injection at regular intervals. Many types of reticulation pipes are available in the market and some even use irrigation pipes for this. However, we strongly recommend that you do not use the wrong pipes for this purpose. Select good quality pipes specially made for Reticulation. Since these pipes are concealed and underground, it is necessary that the right quality pipes are used that last long and have the required specifications. Termipore is one such trusted brand, they have designed and developed pipes that are long lasting, cost effective and they provide all the accessories too. Termipore Pipes can be installed before, during or after construction too. Available in multiple sizes, Termipore Pipes are made of special elastomeric compound developed after intense research and trials. These pipes have micro holes across and around the pipe, the pipe walls are also of required thickness appropriate for concealed underground installation. Remember, don’t wait, prevent termites now and save yourself from destruction and loss due to termites always!

Reticulation and Preventive Anti-termite TermiPore Reticulation System

Are you worried about termites returning in a year or two, after termite treatment? Then you have reached the right place.

Install Preventive Anti-Termite Reticulation System to bid good-bye to damage from termites.

Internationally the most popular method to prevent & control termites, it is now very popular in India too!

What is Reticulation?

Let us first understand the meaning of Reticulation. In simple words, Reticulation is defined as an arrangement of criss-cross lines that look like a net.

Interestingly, human beings have got the inspiration of this technology from nature. Reticulation is abundantly found in nature, eg on leaves, giraffe, python, fish, in human body etc.; and the importance of reticulation on different organisms is an interesting subject.

Human beings have adopted this pattern in many technologies, eg irrigation, electricity grids, water supply, hydroponics, aquaculture, etc. and now also to prevent and control termites.

What is Anti-termite Reticulation?

Taking a cue from nature, Anti-termite Reticulation System design involves a network of pipes installed underground, or below the tiles, with junction boxes at regular intervals. Termiticides are injected from the outlet extended to the junction box, usually installed on the external walls of the premises. The treatment is hassle-free, safe and quick and it does not disturb anyone present on the site.

Why is Anti-termite Reticulation System popular?

Reticulation is the most convenient, cost-efficient and effective method to create an impenetrable barrier to stop termites from entering your property, to prevent any damage from termites, to protect property from loss and destruction due to termites and to ensure that this is done in a hassle-free manner year on year for decades.

With one-time concealed installation, you can get termite treatment that is low cost, hassle free, odourless, mess-free, quick and very convenient to repeat at desired intervals, to ensure that termites do not return.
